Going Back to Work Sucks

So my vacation is over, I have to go back to work tomorrow. Pretty lame if you ask me. Right now, just the thought of going back to work is making me sick. I am so not motivated for it. I can't stand my job, i don't care for the people so much either. It's just a bad environment for me to be in right now.

I'll get my 1st quarter review tomorrow...do you hear the excitement in my voice? I have a feeling that shit has been said about me since I've been gone. Maybe it's just me over-reacting, but it was odd that the thought occured to me today.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Hello Kitty Rocks!

And for once I'm not the only one who thinks so! Lisa Loeb is partnering with Sanrio to feature Hello Kitty on her next album and a Hello Kitty doll with Lisa's signature glasses. How cool is that! Check it out: The Scoop

This is the reason I miss LA sometimes:
Fashion Shows

I loved taking part in fashion week when I was FIDM. I used to be a dresser for the fashion shows. It's a low paying job, but the experience was very cool.

My Friend Chad

Since my dad past away, I've been hanging out with my friend Chad. Chad and I have been friends since June 16,1988 (I remember dates of specific events, yes I know that I'm weird). We worked at Wendy's that summer before my Senior year. I had a plan after high school, and when Chad and Joey came along, everything changed.

Chad and I have history, we can't change it. So much has happened to us over the last 15 years, but what is really cool is that we are still friends. We have both grown so much. When I look at him, it's so weird to see that we're both over 31. The other day, I realized how much I appreciate that we are still close friends. He's been there for me, he knows everything about me. That is just so comforting.

I've always known that even though we fought and called each other names, that we would still be friends in some capcity, but I never imagined that we would be as close as we are. For that, I am truely greateful.

Fake Movies

I picked up the latest CD from Liam Lynch yesterday. For those of you who don't know who Liam is, check out his website. Liam co-created one of my favorite shows of all time, Sifl n Olly. I love puppets, and this show rocked. When the DVD comes out of the first two seasons, I highly recommend picking it up.

Back to my story, the CD comes with a special DVD of behind the scenes stuff, home movies and shorts. This guy is really talented, he produced the entire CD and DVD using stuff that we as regular people can do. Pick up this CD today! Even Best Buy is carring it!

I know that some of my old school friends think that I tend to linger on memories of high school and the past a great deal. This is going to be another one of those moments, so leave the room if you're sick of it.

Back in high school, I used to hang out with these two guys, Bill and Jerry. I had known Bill for sometime, but didn't start hanging out with him until after graduation. (Bill and I used to work at Wendy's together, there's more to the story here, but I'll go into that later) I knew of Jerry, but didn't know him personally. Bill and Jerry produced my high school's first underground newspaper, The BullCrap Times. The paper started circulating during my Junior year, by my Senior year it was talk of the school and the school district. The ledgendary Valentines Day issue was when the school decided to fight back. Anyone seen with a copy of the paper was suspended. The district threatened Bill and Jerry with various law suits, and threatened to exspell Bill. They couldn't do anything to Jerry, cause the smart bastard dropped out at the end of first semster! These guys shoved their first amendment rights in the districts face and won! Bill had to graduate from DVHS, but he was still able to graduate!

These guys are so talented. When I started hanging out with them, I found out that they had produced many shorts of their own. I saw a bunch of them, and they were the funniest, and most original pieces of art I had seen at that point. The plan was that they were going to go to film school and become writers/directors some day. My friend John and I would be the producer/marketing teams.

As we know, this dream never happened. Jerry went into the Army two years after high school. I haven't spoken to Jerry in over a year. He sent me a letter saying that he was ok, and for me not to worry. Although when I send him emails or call, he never responds. Very odd. Jerry got married on a whim during the last few years of his Army service. When he got out he started working on his degree, he eventually got a BA inf Business Admin, which then got him into law school. He is the only high school drop out that I know of that has a law degree. The last letter I got gives a return address in San Francisco.

Bill...who knows where he his. The seperation of the pair wasn't on good terms. There was a lot of hostility that I still do not know the root of to this very day. I ran into Bill at this crappy night club in North Phoenix when I was in Culinary School. (Bill was the DJ, DJ Mr.Bill) I was with Jerry, and the girl that Bill was going out with and living with made a pass at Jerry (she was a crack whore too). My girlfriend and I then made the girlfriend jealous by buying Bill drinks all night. I then ran into him again at the most unlikely of places, the Depeche Mode concert for Exciter! I asked him to stop and talk to me for a sec, and he said his hellos and walked on by. Again, very odd.

These guys had the talent to do great things for film and television. I hope that one day they will reunite and try it again.

It's here!!

My $1500 couch has arrived! Now it only makes me realize that I need to buy the matching chair! That's another $1100, and two more weeks of waiting for it to be delivered.

I'm going to make the coffee table thingy this weekend. I still need to buy fabric and put it together.

Next it's cleaning time. We still have baseboards and crown molding to put up, but I can do that next week. No big rush on that. At least the floors are done!

I'll post a picture of the finished room soon!
