I have always loved Airedale Terriers. Going through the pictures I got yesterday I found these and thought that I would share:

This is my Nana and Dada with their Airedale Terrier Duke. I think...My dad used to tell me the story about how Duke ate his prized cowboy boots.

These are Duke's puppies. My dad said that my Grandparents used to breed and show Airedales, but I can't seem to find any pictures or information on that.

This is me with my first Airedale Terrier, Alex. Pancho is older but wiser beloved dog. This was taken in the Spring of 1987. Probably Feburary, since we got Alex as a Christmas present. I remember going to pick her out with my Dad. She was the runt of the litter, but she was so adorable. I named her Alex after a little girl that lived across the street from us in Hendersonville. I have always had a thing about naming my dogs human names. Alex passed away one month before her 12th birthday October 1999.

These are my current kids: Phoebe (Lemon Bassett Hound); Joey (Airedale Terrier); Chase (part Beagle/Jack Russell). They are the love of my life, without them I would be so empty. When I look at Joey now, I see the generations of my family's Airedales in him. He's about twice the size (85lbs, now 2yrs old), but I love how he looks so proud, so strong. When you're not looking, he's mush.

I went to the storage unit today. No dining room set like she told me a few months ago. Not sure what that was all about. My sister got the bulk of the items. The weird thing is that much of the stuff was labeled with my dad's handwriting. Like he knew or has known that his time was almost up. There is still a great deal missing, but I'm not sure what to do about it. I still feel very strongly that was was acquired before they married needs to stay with my sister and I.
There was a box of pictures and stuff from grade school and high school. Every picture I picked up had my grandmother in it. Much of the boxes had my grandmother all over it. One even had her perfume. I smelled my dad everywhere today. I feel so alone right now. My family is gone. Going through the pictures of me as a baby was the hardest part. Looking at my mom, dad, Nana, Dada, and great-grandparents holding me just moments after I was born made me break down in tears. Everyone was so happy, everyone was together in one room to celebrate my arrival. Every picture has a story, but I don't know what it is. I don't know the details of my birth, I don't know a lot of things, and now no one can tell me.
In much of the things, I found little notes that my Nana left for me.
Here is one of them:
"May 20, 1977 -
Lisa Dear: This necklace belonged to my Mother, your Grandmother and I know that she would be so proud for you to have it for your very own. You will treasure it and take good care of it con't you? You are a big girl now and just a few months you will be in the First Grade at school.
Love you,
Nana and Dada"
I have roseries galore and many pictures of Mother Mary now. It's like my Nana is right next to me. I miss them all so very much.
So my sister is in town. We have to go to New River to pick up my dad's things. Step-monster put everything in a storage unit for us to pick up. We're not allowed to step foot on the soil that we grew up on. I had to call her today to et some info...I hated making that call, it put me in the worst mood all afternoon. I guess she's not going to be there. Fine by me, it better this way. So far my sister and I have not had any arguements over who gets what. I'm sure that will change tomorrow. She can be so dramatic sometimes.
I'll write more tomorrow. I hope this closes the book on my dad's death.

Just got back from the salon. I feel so much better now. New hair, eyebrows waxed...I feel new again :) I found the perfect color of pink for my hair today too! Once I find out if about this other job, I'm doing it! I know I've been saying this for a while now, but I mean it this time :)
So I just got home from the show. The set list included most if the stuff from his solo album, and then he played "Question of Time", "Never Let Me Down", "Policy of Truth", "Enjoy the Silence", "Personal Jesus", and "Walking in My Shoes".
The show was so fucking rad dude. There was an abundance of weiner at the show...both hetero and gay...everyone was my age, and everyone was a true fan. It's so amazing to go to concerts like this. The vibe is so cool, and everyone watches out for each other.
I hope Martin Gore comes through town soon!
I didn't get the job. I'm upset by it, but not too bad. I think what upsets me the most is that it's like the 6th job I've applied for in the company over the last 4 years, and I can't seem to get one. I always make it to the last round, me and one or two other candidates..then nothing for me. It's kinda lame. And when I go for the feedback, it's the same old crap. I know it looks bad to not get feedback, but sometimes it hurts.
I'm in a funk. A really dark cloud has landed over my head, and it doesn't seem like it's moving anytime soon. Time to consult the Doc about meds for help. Not anything that I enjoy doing, but it's been long enough, and I can't fix everything on my own. I need help.
I'm going to start a new blip on the website called "Dumb Tech Call of the Day"....being as I work in tech support, I might have lots of stories to tell. I think I'm also going to invite my tech friends to contribute as well. Look for it soon.
I know that I was bummed when I didn't get those tickets on Ebay for Dave Gahan, but I was going to break down and buy them at full price from the ticket mougal Ticketmaster, and low an behold they are having a 2 for 1 special today! And they must have opened up more seats today cause I can now get on the main floor :) I'm so excited to go Friday!
Oh and for those of you who do not know who Dave Gahan is (*cough* *cough* Frank *cough* *cough*), he is the lead singer of my favorite band of all time, DEPECHE MODE. Check out his solo album Paper Monters
YoHoo! YAY!
I had placed a bid on EBAY Friday morning for tickets to see Dave Gahan for this coming Saturday. I was really excited about it, 6th row center and the higest bid price was at $30.01. The auction was to end at 842pm that day. By the end of the day I was the highest bidder at 36.01. Pretty smoking deal if you ask me. About 5 minutes before the auction was to end the seller cancelled the auction, but no reason was given. How lame is that? I tried to contact the seller, but all emails were undeliverable. This is why I hate EBAY sometimes. I sent in a misrepresentation complaint. On a good note I was able to place a bid on 4th row center :)
It was about 9pm last when when the dogs started barking. Not so unusal, but what was odd is that the dogs wouldn't go outside in the back yard. Then they just started freaking out. I heard stuff banging around in the backyard. I'm the only one home right now too. I thought that maybe it was Oscar banging into things out back, but the bangs started to shake the windows and house. I started to freak out now cause Oscar was in the guest bedroom asleep. I called my fearless boyfriend, but he was not answering his cell phone. The noise got louder, I freaked and called the cops.
It only took about 3 minutes for him to get to my house. I stepped outside to talk to the officer, only to be mortified that someone was shooting off fireworks at the resort nearby. The dispatch office was verifying that they had permits to shoot off the fireworks as the officer walked up. I feel like such an ass now.
I went for my interview yesterday morning. I can't tell if it went well or not. Who knows? I guess if it is meant to be I'll get the job.
Went to dinner with Chad last night. That was cool. Went to PF Changs...normally, I don't ever go there, but for some odd reason over the last month I have been craving their lettuce wraps. Then we went to Starbucks for coffee. Chad just cracks me up. We can talk about the most bizzare things sometimes. We were out during the monsoon, so the streets and stores were empty. We went over to Barnes and Noble and he tried to talk me into buying a book about knots. He totally rationalized why I need to have a book of knots in my personal library, cause you never know when a knot might come in handy.
Gonna go play SWG now...BYE!

Dude...( when I get excted, everything starts off as Dude) I picked up this Marshmallow Body Spray from Lather last week....dude this stuff rocks! and you can use it as a hair detangler! This is a very cool shop...unique items and combinations. A MUST for every girl!
At least it isn't for me. I never seem to have enough time to get everything done...either that or I pile up too much stuff.
My friend Glen will like this.....but the movie Twister is pretty good :) I haven't seen it in a while, and it was on tonight on Bravo...pretty decent...What seems odd to me is the Lisa Loeb song How in the movie....just a bit odd.
