The dinner went well. Peggy, Jack's girlfriend, was saying that family dinners aren't all that exciting anymore.

Way To Go Parents

Glendale girls held in Amber Alert hoax

I am so happy to see that the parents of these girls are keeping them in jail until their hearings. When I heard the Amber Alert on TV, I was really concerned for the missing child.

Odd Star Sightings

Is it me, or is it a little weird to see Alice Cooper at Safeway on a Saturday night?

Just Stuff

So I had an interview on Wed for an Admin Assistant position at my work. It's a step back, but I really don't see it that way...I think that if I play my cards right and just be patient, I can finish school, get my certifications and move into a network ops position. I think that it would be easier for me to get there if I am already in that organization, rather than coming in from the retail side of things. I was hoping to have an offer today, but all I got was silence. Maybe Monday...I hate waiting...I'll really feel stupid if I don't get it. It will be the 8th job that has passed me by in the last two years.

Creating Chefs

I picked this book up today. When I glanced at it, I thought, "oh another lame book written by someone who knows nothing about the hard work it takes to become a chef. Well then I took a closer look at the authors and the chef profiles. It was all about the Chefs that I trained under at SCI! Not everyone, but two of the Chefs that taught me were still there at the time the book was written. It was written by a student and I have to admit it's pretty good. It made me think about what I loved about cooking and being a chef. I felt so insipred that I whipped up a lemon coconut buttermilk tart, and a traditional French apple tart. All just because I can. Looking at the finished tarts brings such amazement to my eyes. The perfect color of brown, and the beutifully circled apples that make your eyes dance. I just gave the apple tart to our new neighbors, and I feel so good right now, cause I can see them diving into right away cause it's still warm.

This is what being a chef is all about!
